dright, you should buy the 218 from eBay.It is about $3000-$4000, still cheaper than the 220...Here is some comments on what is good bokeh:

It looks like the EF-S 55-250mm IS is a better fit (more useful focal range) for my 20D -- don\'t compare the image quality to white lenses. From many reviews, it\'s not bad at all considering its price. This probabily enough for me.
BTW, it\'s out of stock everywhere here in U.S!

看你要拍那種人像吧我覺得在1.6 crop body上，24-70L比較適合拍人像
全身的、半身的、大頭照都可用
但我還是會盡量把85L拿出來用，因為畫質實在有差
70比較適合拍半身的照片
55-250焦段是不錯啦，又便宜，只是我覺得它的光圈不夠大
其實買來用個兩年，如果覺得光圈不夠大，再去買個大光圈的也不遲
Canon鏡的畫質不會差到那去，而且有人說55-250畫質比75-300 IS好哩
便宜的好處是，換鏡時就算懶得把老鏡賣出去也不覺得虧
我沒用過55-250，只能從照片中猜…
1. 沒有focus distance limiter，所以對焦的速度可能不會很快
2. IS沒有分mode 1 及 mode 2，可能新的IS線路會自動偵測腳架吧…
3. MF對焦環好細…
我不覺得買這鏡頭有什麼不好就是了
當你用個鏡頭，拍了很多照片，努力把照片拍好，然後發現你的鏡頭已經跟不上你的標準了
這就是進步的痕跡
BTW, Kaj, the rebate does work with 42nd St. Photo!All the rebate forms I found require that the camera and printer be bought from some specific dealers. 55-250 is excellent lens....But it is EF-S...If your budget is OK, just go for 70-200f4IS ba..... Trust me, when you get used to 17-55mm picture quality, you won\'t satisfy 55-250.... If you are so so serious on taking great pictures for Mei Mei, then go for the 85LII...F1.2 won\'t disappoint you.....

結婚大限?Congratulations first!!! Yeah, you better buy as many equipments as possible before you get married.After that, you will be hopeless to buy anything....I am still debating to buy a new 5D or an used 1DsII in eBay....I don\'t have that much faith in 5D after seeing lots of people are suffering on 5D bugs.....

dont buy both, go buy 1D II N Kaj, you are absolutely right.I guess I will want to buy 70-200 F4 IS after I get the 55-250 since the image quality of 17-55 is really great.

小小白IS blows out 55-250 in any aspect. That website also has pictures to compare the two lenses.
As you know, I can only accept pictures equal or better than 17-55 now
I really wish that Canon can make a lens like \"EF-S 55-150 F2.8 IS USM\" one day.
